Pilgrim Day Walkers

Thinking of joining the Pilgrimage for each, all or any of the days? You are welcome to join the perpetual pilgrims for any of the walks along the route, safe in the knowledge that you’ll be sleeping in your own bed at night!

Start and Finish Transportation

All Day Pilgrims will need to make their own way to the starting point and their own way from the finishing point. Ideally, club together with other parishioners and share the cost of a taxi, or see if someone in your parish could provide a lift.

Accompaniment

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, who if not one of their parents, must have parental consent for that child to undertake the walk, and who is to take full responsibility for that child on the walk.

Praying

There will be opportunities for prayer along the route as well as a Mass at the end of each day, except Sunday when it is hoped we will have Adoration and Benediction.

Walking Gear

Please ensure you have appropriate walking gear including footwear, wet weather gear, and walking poles if needed. Please ensure you have water containers, food and snacks. Please bring your own basic first aid kit, to include blister plasters, paracetamol/ibuprofen and sunscreen etc.

Fitness Needs

Some days of the walk are more strenuous than others as it passes through the Malvern Hills and the Cotswold Hills. Day pilgrims will need to maintain an average of 4kph.
